Three teenagers were killed and a fourth is in critical condition after a crash in Stephens County early Friday morning.

The Georgia State Patrol said just after midnight four teens were in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling on Brookhave Circle toward a right hand curve.

Officials said the Jeep failed to stay in its lane, crossed the oncoming lane and ran off the roadway, striking multiple trees.

Three of the victims were pronounced dead on scene, officials said. A fourth passenger of the vehicle was partially ejected and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition.

The decedents were identified as 18-year-old Tristin Elizabeth Helton of Clarkesville, 17-year-old Macklen-Jace Elijah of Martin and 16-year-old Kennedy Ruthann Wright of Clarkesville.

The hospitalized victim is a 17-year-old from Toccoa.
