Today will bring similar weather to what we saw on Sunday with hot humid conditions with scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
Afternoon highs reach near 90 degrees in the Upstate and middle 80s in the mountains. The big picture shows mostly a mix of clouds and sunshine, while storms are expected to pop up from lunchtime onward in the mountains, and from 2pm onward in the Upstate.
For evening fireworks, storms should start to wind down between 8-9pm. That means, most areas should be OK for fireworks (though you may have to wait to get to the location just before they begin). One or two storms may linger longer, but it's unlikely to cause widespread celebration problems at night.
Fourth of July and the two days following will bring nearly identical weather to today’s until a weak upper level disturbance finally passes by to the east.
This will significantly lessen our rain chances for Friday and the weekend with just a slight chance of a passing shower on Saturday.
