FAIR PLAY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office said a Georgia man is facing charges after a traffic stop ended in a drug bust.

Deputies said on Friday night they saw a vehicle speeding on Highway 59 and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Jose Alberto Flores-Del Angel of Douglasville, was observed moving around actively inside the vehicle.

Flores-Del Angel didn't have a driver's license and a search of his vehicle revealed a quantity of white powder, according to deputies. Arrest warrants state the substance was determined to be 36 grams of cocaine.

He was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking cocaine and ticketed for driving without a license.

Flores-Del Angle is currently being held at the Oconee County Detention Center on a $50,000 surety bond. A hold has also been placed on him by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement service.
