ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said $500 is now being offered for information leading to the whereabouts of 37-year-old David Oakley.

Oakley disappeared after leaving a home on Concord Road around 8:30 p.m. on May 31. The car Oakley left in was found the next morning with a dead battery along Interstate 85 near mile marker 30.

Deputies said a search of the area around the car revealed no additional details.

Investigators with Anderson Police Department said after Oakley vanished, an automated voicemail greeting on his cellphone was changed to Spanish. Relatives later said the SIM card was removed from the phone the night before he went missing and they do not believe it is connected to his disappearance.

Oakley is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a t-shirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Information leading to his location may be eligible for a $500 cash reward.
