GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greer Police Department said Friday morning that a man accused of assaulting a manager at a Home Depot had been arrested.

Police said the incident occurred at the Home Depot store on West Wade Hampton Boulevard on Saturday around 9 p.m.

The suspect is accused of entering the store with his golden retriever, which wandered into an employee break room. When the manager requested the man not let his dog wander the store, police said the suspect responded angrily but walked away.

Approximately 10 minutes later, officers said the dog and the man came back to the manager and the suspect began shouting foul language, threw merchandise at the employee and punched him in the face.

The suspect had a heavy smell of alcohol, officers said.

Greer police initially posted about the incident on Facebook and asked the community for help identifying the suspect.

On Friday, police announced that Timothy Carlton Few was arrested Thursday night and charged with assault and battery third degree.
