TRYON, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials in Tryon said Wednesday that a boil water advisory had been lifted.

On Monday, officials said an  accident involving a fire caused low water pressure for some customers receiving water from the Hogback Mountain Reservoir.

A boil-water-advisory was issued for the Gillette Woods neighborhood because officials said periods of low pressure can lead to an increase in the risk of bacteria in the water system.

City officials said residents affected were sent hand-delivered notices from Tryon Public Works and the Police Department

These residents were advised to boil all water for consumption, food preparation, ice making, teeth brushing, and dish washing for at least two minutes before using.

All other Tryon Public Works customers could use water as-is.

Tryon Public Works said Wednesday that the boil-water advisory had been lifted.
