DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Some families in the Upstate are encountering devastating house flooding as a result of the heavy downpour Monday evening.

The Red Cross was dispatched to assist two families in Duncan, one located on Cassie Marie Court and the other on Sunny Ray Drive after their homes were flooded during Monday's heavy rains.

All residents and pets inside the home are accounted for, Captain A.J. Pearson with the Duncan Fire Department said.

The rain flooded in from the street level from the runoff, he continued.

A second home located on Sunny Ray Drive was also reported to have suffered flooding. Red Cross has not received a response from this home.
