ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson police said no one was hurt during an accidental shooting at the Walmart on the SC 28 Bypass Monday night.

Police were called to the store around 11 p.m.

Per incident reports, a 28-year-old man told police he was in a hurry to use the bathroom and his Smith & Wesson MMP Shield 9 mm handgun fell from his pants and hit the floor, causing the gun to accidentally discharge.

Police said the shooting left a hole in the tiled wall of the restroom.

Management did not want to press charges but asked that the man cover the cost of the damage to the wall. Both parties agreed and police said a check of the gun’s serial number was returned as clear.
