Police investigating damage to Spartanburg home reportedly caused by fireworks

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police are investigating after a woman’s home was reportedly damaged by fireworks late Monday night.

Police said the vandalism occurred on Oakview Drive.

The woman living at the home told police a group of people had been setting off fireworks at the apartment complex near her house and at set off a firework that was left on her doorstep.

The fireworks reportedly damaged a window and left a small hole in it, per the incident reports.

Police have not named any suspects.

Setting off fireworks within Spartanburg city limits is against the law.

Police said anyone caught using fireworks will face fines exceeding $200.
