Power restored to nearly 2K Duke Energy customers in Anderson Co.; hundreds still without power

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Over 2,000 Duke Energy customers were without power in Anderson County on the Fourth of July.

Per the Duke Energy Outage Map, the outage was first reported a little after 3 p.m.

At around 4 p.m., approximately 2,350 customers were experiencing the outage. AT 9:35 p.m., that outage number has dwindled to under 400.

No expected time of restoration and no cause of the outage has been announced yet.

About 228 customers in Spartanburg County were also experiencing outages after reports of downed power lines on Leisure Lane.

Power had been restored to most of those customers by 9 p.m.
