Hot and humid again today, with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the middle 80s to lower 90s.
Pockets of rain and storms get going this afternoon and could produce isolated damaging wind. A marginal risk for that severe weather holds for the mountains and northern half of the Upstate today. A few of these storms may linger into the overnight but should clear out tomorrow morning.
As a cold front moves its way through, tomorrow will be our last day of widespread afternoon showers and thunderstorms, which will give way to merely a stray sprinkle or shower on Friday and Saturday.
All in all, the weekend will be much drier than the last few days have been, but the heat won’t go anywhere as highs stay near 90 in the Upstate. Storm chances will ramp back up early next week.
