Thousands walked the streets of downtown Greenville Tuesday to celebrate the Fourth of July. Like John McManaway who came back home from Indiana to celebrate with his mom.

"The best things about is all the people from different countries and different communities,” he explained, “It's awesome."

Very few celebrated quite like Greenville resident, Brad Webb. Who was more or less a walking, talking and high-fiving American Flag. An outfit he wore last year for a race.

"What better time to bring it back out than 4th of July and here in Greenville,” explained Webb.

Webb is an army veteran. He says he just wants to put a smile on people's faces as they celebrate downtown. He wanted to remind people they have plenty to be happy about on this Fourth of July.

"Show my support for America,” said Webb, “I think it makes people happy showing people the red white and blue."

While Webb used his colorful personality and costume, Tammy Francis with FunnelDelicous was supplying smiles using funnel cake. She says there is nothing better than celebrating America's Independence Day with thousands of other upstate residents.

"That's the best thing that I enjoy,” said Francis, “Being down here with the people and everything. Waiting for the fireworks to go off tonight."

Webb hopes people will remember those fighting overseas while they enjoy Greenville's Red White and Blue festival. Those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

"The freedoms that we enjoy, the liberties we enjoy in the greatest country in the world, is a reason to celebrate,” said Webb.
