Fire dept.: Asheville chocolate shop briefly evacuated

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Asheville Fire Department said the French Broad Chocolate Lounge was evacuated Wednesday morning after the building filled with smoke.

The eatery/ candy and coffee shop is located on Pack Square.

Shortly after 7 a.m. firefighters said they responded to reports of smoke and an electrical smell in the building.

Firefighters evacuated the building and were searching for any signs of fire. They later determined that there was an issue with the HVAC unit.
