FAIR PLAY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Oconee County on Wednesday.

Troopers said the crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Interstate 85 northbound near Exit 2 and the South Carolina-Georgia state line. Injuries were reported. A FOX Carolina crew at the scene said a UPS truck was one of the vehicles involved in the collision.

Due to the collision, troopers said both lanes on I-85 north were blocked and confirmed the crash was fatal.

The Oconee County Coroner's Office said the victim is a 28-year-old woman from Covington, Georgia. The coroner said she was wearing a seat belt but was ejected due to the force of impact.

She was identified as Alyssa Hartfield Wright. Her husband was transported to AnMed with injuries.

The coroner said the victim, her husband, and other family members in a separate vehicle were traveling to visit relatives in Winston-Salem.

Just before 6:30 p.m., troopers said one of two northbound lanes on I-85 had reopened. As of 7 :15 p.m., all lanes had been cleared following the crash.

Troopers said a Mack truck was disabled and parked in an emergency strip along I85 when a Jeep traveling north along I85 veered off the right side of the road, striking it in the rear. A second vehicle, was also struck during the crash, but those passengers were uninjured.
