(FOX Carolina) -

Clif Bar & Company is voluntarily recalling certain CLIF Builder’s Chocolate Mint flavor bars, and CLIF Zbars Protein bars in Chocolate Mint and Chocolate Chip flavors.

There is a possibility the bars may contain undeclared peanuts and some tree nuts, including almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts and coconuts, according to the FDA. (Click here to see the full news release from the FDA)

The FDA said people with an allergy to peanuts and these specific tree nuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.  Clif Bar & Company is asking consumers who have peanut and these specific tree nut allergies not to consume these bars. However, people who are not allergic to peanuts or these specific tree nuts may safely eat the products.

The recalled CLIF bars were sold in retail stores and online throughout the U.S.

Customers can return the recalled bars the store they purchased them from, Clif said.

No other Clif Bar & Company products are affected.
