COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

For the second year in a row, the South Carolina Gamecocks are claiming victory in an athletics, academic and charity event against the Clemson Tigers.

Each year the schools face off for the Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series where they earn points for athletic events, team GPAs and a food drive to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank and Golden Harvest Food Bank.

The schools were tied in the competition this year until team GPA became the tie-breaker.

Clemson clinched wins for men's soccer, football, basketball, baseball, golf, women's cross country and brought in the most for the charity food drive.

South Carolina took points in women's soccer, volleyball, golf, basketball, diving, men and women's tennis and secured the academic point.

“Our student-athletes, coaches and staff all enjoy the Palmetto Series and appreciate the South Carolina Department of Agriculture for their support,” Clemson Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “We look forward this competition continuing for years to come.”
