SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two men were arrested after a fight outside Chiefs in Spartanburg Wednesday night, according to the Spartanburg Police Department.

Police said officers had pulled over a car near the restaurant when they heard shouting coming from the parking lot.

Officers said they saw a woman and a man repeatedly hitting another man in the head until he fell down.

Officers said they ran over and had to literally pull the woman off the man on the ground, later identified as Christopher Boyd, to stop her from hitting him. The other man, later identified as Antonio Ferguson, ran from officers. They were able to chase him down and take him into custody.

The woman, per incident reports, told officers the incident started when Boyd grabbed her butt while she was standing with her boyfriend, another man, not Ferguson, outside the restaurant. She said she then confronted Boyd and he tried to hit her, sparking the violence that ensued.

Police said other victims on scene corroborated the woman’s story.

Both Boyd and Ferguson were arrested and charged with assault and battery third degree.
