Deputies: Taser, meth and pills found on woman booked in jail for probation violation

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The McDowell County Sheriff's Office said multiple drugs and a weapon were seized from a woman being booked into jail.

Deputies said 29-year-old Ashley Michele Norton was booked into the McDowell County detention center on June 15 on a probation violation. At the jail, a search of her person revealed a handheld Taser, more than five grams of methamphetamine, two pills of Lorazepam and four hydrocodone pills, deputies said.

Norton was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver meth, possession of a controlled substance in jail, possession of a schedule IV and schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
