ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville Police said Friday that a suspect in a July 8 murder had been arrested.

Officers say 20-year-old Sharod Terrell Woods was charged with first degree murder for his participation in a fatal shooting at the Livingston Street Apartments.

Police say they responded to the apartments at 8:12 p.m. where they located 20-year-old Kelby Swinton-Moore of Candler, suffering from a gunshot injury. Swinton-Moore was transported to Mission Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police say.

Woods fled the scene. Police said officers located him Thursday and arrested him.
