The corner says 55-year-old Pamela Betty Hawkins was found dead in her home located on the 500 block of South Irwin Avenue in Spartanburg.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to an unattended death. When they arrived on scene they noticed Hawkins lying on the kitchen floor.

Officers said the refrigerator door was wide open when they arrived and there was an empty liquor bottle on the kitchen floor under the kitchen table.

Hawkins’ landlord said he believed the last time he saw his tenant was Thursday.

The coroner said just before 6 p.m. that the investigation had not revealed any immediate cause for concern with Spartanburg City Detectives or the Coroner's Office. More tests are expected to be performed to investigate all aspects of Hawkins's death.
