FRANKLIN, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A black bear was posing for a North Carolina man's camera in the mountains of Franklin, NC over the weekend.

David LaNinfa said he is no stranger to black bears. He even has names for the two bears he sees on occasion - Yogi and Boo Boo. It was Boo Boo who paid the most recent visit to his home off of Ledford Branch.

LaNinfa said the bears are looking for food and find his bird feeders a delightful and easy snack. He recommends people with bird feeders low to the ground to bring them in or risk them being destroyed.

"We always tell people if they have bird feeders that are low to the ground that they need to bring in at night or take chance of them being destroyed . We know how much people love feeding birds like ourselves but you must understand that bears are looking for an easy meal . And bird feeders are prefect for that . People just have to remember that they are WILD ANIMALS !!”

The bird feeders at LaNinfa's home are kept at least 15 to 20 feet in the air using a pulley system with a cow bell at the top to alert him to the bear's presence so he can yell at it to go away, he said.

He said they see Yogi and Boo Boo maybe once every three weeks.
