UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Union County deputies and K-9s were called in to assist Union police early Monday morning in a search for suspects, according to emergency dispatchers.

Police and deputies were searching for multiple suspects after an incident at a home on 2nd Avenue.

The victim told a FOX photojournalist on scene that he was assaulted during a burglary and that three men stole money and children’s clothing from him. The victim said the men were armed with a gun and pistol whipped him with it.

Union Public Safety later confirmed the incident was a home invasion during which three suspects held the victim at gunpoint. They are also accused of striking the victim with the gun.

Police said the suspects took $800 in cash and a credit card. The tracked the suspects approximately a mile but not arrests have yet been made.

Officers said they are currently conducting interviews.
