MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

McDowell County deputies said a man accused of selling heroin to a woman who died from an overdose has now been charged in her death.

Deputies said Monday that Shane Allen Parker, 27, of Austin Drive in Marion had been charged with second-degree murder.

Deputies said Parker sold Sydney Dara Nanney, 22, fentanyl and heroin. Nanney died after overdosing on the drugs on February 2, deputies said.

Parker had been previously charged with trafficking heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin after deputies and parole officers conducted a search at his house and found heroin, deputies said.
