Power restored to nearly 2k Duke Energy customers in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Nearly 2,000 Duke Energy customers were without power in Greenville Monday evening.

According to the Duke Energy Outage Map, the outage was first reported at 3:12 p.m.

Around 1,970 people were without power near Wade Hampton Blvd. in Taylors close to Bob Jones University.

An official at Bob Jones University says the outage was caused by a downed power line on Wade Hampton at Karen Drive.

Power was restored to the majority of customers around 9 p.m.
