SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Law Enforcement officers, public officials, and members of the public were invited to come together for a moment of unity Tuesday morning, according to Spartanburg County Clerk of Court Tanya Camp.

The Second Annual Unity at the Flag Pole event began outside the Spartanburg County Courthouse at 8 a.m.

“The goal for this gathering is to promote unity among all citizens in our county regardless of our individual differences by offering prayer and words of encouragement,” Camp stated in an email.

Attendees were encouraged to wear red or black.

A crowd of dozens of community members were present, holding hands and praying during the event.
