ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said two people were taken to the hospital after a church bus ran off the road and struck a tree in Anderson County Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on the SC 28 Bypass near Whitehall Road.

Four adults and 21 kids were on board the bus, which belongs to Oakwood Baptist Church, located along the 28 Bypass. A pastor with the church said the children were on board for a summer day camp.

The group was en route to get lunch and go bowling when the crash occurred.

Troopers said the driver and one child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is believed to have been caused by a medical issue.

No other details were immediately available.
