Simpsonville interim police chief promoted to chief of police

SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Interim Simpsonville Police Chief Mike Hanshaw was promoted to Chief of Police on Tuesday.

The motion was passed at a city meeting by a vote of 6 to 1.

Hanshaw started his law enforcement career in 1997 at the Simpsonville Police Department,. He was eventually promoted to sergeant, and in 2005 he transferred to an investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division. After eight years at that position, he was promoted to sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Division.
