GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate drug dealer involved in a multi-state drug operation for 13 years will now spend the rest of his life behind bars.

A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced Eric Scott to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Scott’s drug network operated in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Louisiana, and reportedly distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, over 1,000 pounds of marijuana, and more than 5 kilograms of crack cocaine.

20 people were initially charged but only Scott and Antonio Crawley ever went to trial.

Scott said during the sentencing hearing that he has turned his life around and is being punished for past events. He said the people who testified against him just wanted lighter sentences for their own crimes.
