SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Dispatchers said a HAZMAT crew is on scene of a situation at a Spartanburg retirement home on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at White Oak Estates on Webber Road around 1:20 p.m.

Firefighters on scene said a worker in the kitchen mixed two chemicals together bleach and phosphoric acid resulting in dangerous fumes. She and another employee were transported to the hospital.

The kitchen has its own ventilation system, so firefighters said residents were not evacuated.
