STARTEX, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said two people are charged after a child tested positive for narcotics.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Chestnut Street after the Department of Social Services said 30-year-old Jason Pace, 33-year-old Stefanie Wilson and a child all tested positive for meth.

According to the incident report, Wilson told deputies she didn't understand why because she uses heroin.

Deputies said the child, whose age was not released, also tested positive for cocaine. Pace tested positive for amphetamine, opiates and cocaine in addition to meth, deputies said.

Pace and Wilson were arrested and charged with child neglect.

They were both booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
