Deputies: Suspects charged with kidnapping, attempted murder after man beaten, stabbed, threatened

DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Multiple suspects have been charged with kidnapping and attempted murder in connection with an incident in Duncan.

According to warrants, 24-year-old Adriana Rose Beasley of Spartanburg was arrested on July 10 and charged with assault/attempted murder and kidnapping in connection with an incident that took place on May 29. Charles Daniel Luck, 33, of Duncan was also hit with the same charges in connection with the incident, and was arrested on June 30.

Warrants said Beasley participated in an aggravated assault of a male victim who was stabbed several times and was severely beaten. According to warrants, Beasley is also accused of unlawfully seizing, confining, kidnapping or abducting he victim from a Belvedere Drive address in Duncan

The warrant also stated that the injuries sustained by the victim caused great bodily injury, and could have likely led to the victim's death.

According to the incident report, a deputy responded to an address on the 100 block of Belvedere Drive around 8:39 p.m. on May 29. Upon arrival, the responding deputy said in the report that he made contact with a man who said his grandson, the victim, had been living with him for some time. The man told deputies that the victim's brother had also been living with him until he rain into some trouble with residents on the 200 block of Belvedere Drive.

Deputies said in the incident report that the victim went to the address on the 200 block of Belvedere Drive around 8 p.m. and returned beat up and bleeding. The incident report said the victim also suffered from swelling and bruising on his face, cuts to both legs (one of which was a deep laceration). 

The victim told deputies that his brother had introduced him to methamphetamine several months ago, and said that the residents at the address on the 200 block of Belvedere Drive had been supplying him with the substance. The victim told deputies his brother had stolen from the residents that sold him the methamphetamine, and the residents had become angry with him and his brother after finding out about it. 

On May 29, the incident report said the victim went to the address on the 200 block of Belvedere Drive to buy more methamphetamine, but when he got there, the residents questioned him on the whereabouts of his brother and held him against his will. While he was held against his will, the four residents made several threats against him, involving harming him and his family.  

The victim refused to tell the residents where his brother was located, and the residents subsequently began attacking him, punching and kicking him in the face, and at some point, cutting both of his legs with a pair of scissors. The victim was also stabbed in the chest with a pocket knife, held down and beaten with a wooden object.

The victim was able to escape and call fro help, but not before he sustained a collapsed lung and several other puncture wounds, lacerations, abrasions and bruises due to the attack.

The victim was transported to Village at Pelham Hospital for medical treatment.

James Johnson, Charles Luck, Adriana Beasley and Kristin Peebles were all identified as suspects in the case after being identified by the victim and chosen out of a photo line up.

On July 10, Adriana Beasley was charged with assault/attempted murder and kidnapping in the case. She was taken to Spartanburg County Detention Center where she is being held on $60,000 bond ($30,000 bond for each charge).

Charles Luck was arrested on June 30 and charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. He is currently at the Spartanburg County Detention Center being held without bond.
