HOT and HUMID weather finally let up a bit over the weekend as rain chances build in.
This afternoon will feature a few locally intense storms across western NC, but the Upstate will most likely miss out on most of this activity once again. The NC storms will gradually begin weakening after sunset.
The Tennessee border down to Asheville has a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms, with damaging wind and downpours as the main threats.
A weakening front will bring climbing rain chances to the entire area on Saturday. Expect a good chance of afternoon rain and storms with a few severe storms possible. Gusty wind would be the primary concern, as the area is under a marginal risk for a round of severe weather.
Some rain or storms could linger on Sunday across the Upstate, but mostly dry and hot weather looks to return for most of next week.
