EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Easley police said they were called to the home of Jessica Edens on the night before her death to check on her and her two children. Pickens County deputies said Edens was found shot to death in her car along with her two children at the Greenville Pickens Speedway Thursday evening,  a short time after Greenville police said Edens shot and killed a woman in the parking garage of her estranged husband’s apartment complex.

According to an Easley Police Department incident report, Eden’s estranged husband contacted police and asked if he could use text messages sent to him by Edens in a family court situation. Police advised that text messages could be used in court.

The report states the husband then asked if police could perform a welfare check at Eden’s home on Creekside Way in Easley.

A police officer went to the house and said Edens and the children were there. The report states that the Edens did not appear angry or upset in anyway.

When asked about the text messages she had sent to her husband, Eden told officers the messages concerned information she hoped to expose in court.
