Today will bring more thunderstorms to the area mainly this afternoon as hot and muggy conditions continue.
Scattered to locally numerous storms are expected across the region for the remainder of the afternoon. A few storms could become severe with hail/gusty wind but should generally weaken after sunset.
As a weak front passes through, the mountains’ storm chance will decrease quite a bit on Sunday but remain fairly scattered in the afternoon across the Upstate with highs continuing near 90 degrees and middle 80s in the mountains.
By Monday the cold front should be completely by us which will mean just a lingering shower or storm, leaving most of next week dry but hot with highs gradually rising into the lower and middle 90s in the Upstate and middle to upper 80s in the mountains.
