RUTHERFORDTON, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said two are in custody and one is still sought in connection with a host of break in incidents in Rutherford County.

Jason Avery Shrewsbury was apprehended on outstanding warrants after a Rutherfordton police officer spotted him in the parking lot of the Dollar General on South Main Street in Rutherfordton, said deputies.

The Sheriff's Office said David Blake Rodgers was a passenger inside the vehicle Shrewbury was found in, and fled from officers on foot before being apprehended by police and deputies in a creek across the road from the same Dollar General.

Rodgers was charged with 3 counts of resisting a public officer, and also had an outstanding warrant for a felony probation violation out of Henderson County.

Detectives learned during an investigation that Shrewsbury had been involved in a breaking and entering at Beck's Discounts on Highway 221N in the Gilkey Community, as well as several other breaking and entering incidents, some of which had not been reported.

Detectives were able to connect Shrewsbury and Cornell Kawaski Monteith to a breaking and entering and robbery at Larry Hodge Auto Sales, an attempted breaking and entering at Union Mills Country Store and an attempted breaking and entering at Hester Snack Bar. Detectives also located property linking the pair to a breaking and entering and larceny at J. Michaels Video in Caroleen.

Monteith is still wanted in connection with the breaking and entering incidents involving Shrewsbury, and also has multiple outstanding felony warrants as a result of this investigation.

Anyone with information regarding Monteith's whereabouts is asked to contact the Rutherford County Communication Center at (828) 286-2911 or Crime Stoppers at (828) 286-8477.
