UNA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate fire department is building a bridge in the community.

Fire officials with the Una Fire Department are rebuilding the bridge that crosses a creek on the walking trail of the Salvation Army Century of Service Park. The center is located at 40 Foster Street in Spartanburg.

The park and the bridge are 12 years old.

An anonymous donor, donated the wood to the fire department.

The rebuilding began Saturday morning around 8 a.m.

According to Una Fire Chief Jeff Hadden, "We just wanted to raise awareness for the park.  People in the community like to walk there."
