GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville teen was sentenced to 20 years in prison for an aggravated assault charge.

Per the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor, 19-year-old Braxton Lavon Hare was convicted on Thursday for the charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and failure to stop for a blue light.

The solicitor says Hare was involved in an altercation with another driver in September of 2015 where Hare and the passenger in his vehicle, co-defendant William Hunter, pointed pistols at the driver in the other car. As the driver ducked for cover, shots were fired into his vehicle, one of which struck the passenger door, the solicitor continues.

Later that day, Hare was involved in a high-speed pursuit with law enforcement which resulted in him wrecking his car unto another vehicle and causing injuries that resulted in the hospitalization of the driver in the other vehicle.

Hare is currently behind bars at the Greenville County Detention Center.

Hunter pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 8 years for his involvement in the crimes. He is also behind bars at the Greenville County Detention Center.
