GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County Sergeant Jimmy Bolt confirms an alleged kidnapping in Greenville County did not actually occur.

Sgt. Bolt said around 4 p.m. that a reported kidnapping was reported on the 2500 block of Standing Springs Road and that at least one woman was taken by gunpoint. He said the pair was believed to be traveling in a gold, older vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry, Bolt said.

In a media release at 4:39 p.m., Bolt said the kidnapping did not actually occur.

"Many of you have inquired on the reported kidnapping on Standing Springs Road. Deputies are on scene and have determined that a kidnapping has not occurred and all parties are fine," Sgt. Bolt said.
