WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Woodruff-Roebuck Water District said service was restored to customers in Woodruff Tuesday morning after a water main break Monday night but customers in some areas were asked to boil water for one minute before cooking or drinking.

The water main break occurred at 8:35 p.m. on SJ Workman Highway, resulting in low water for some residents in Woodruff and no water for others.

Officials say the following areas were affected: SJ Workman Highway, Road 50, Walnut Grove Highway, Skinner Road, and Price House Road.

The Woodruff-Roebuck Water District said crews repaired the break Monday night and service was back to normal Tuesday morning.

A boil-water advisory was issued for 50 to 60 homes in the area and WRWD said affected customers were notified by phone.

The affected customers were along Snowmill Road, Angells drive, David Drive, and SJ Workman Highway.

The boil water advisory is expected to be lifted Wednesday morning.
