ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office said a man was arrested after threatening to set fire to a structure with his family inside.

Deputies said the incident occurred Monday on Suttles Landing Road.

Kevin Jason Williams, 48, is accused of trapping his wife and young son inside a camper after disabling the lock so they couldn't get out. Deputies said Williams poured gasoline around the camper and threatened to set it on fire but stopped after the child pleaded with him.

One of the victims was able to force the door open and call 911, deputies said.

After evidence was collected at the scene, deputies charged Williams with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of attempted murder.
