The heat climbs above average over the next few days, starting today! Highs reach the lower 90s in the Upstate and upper 80s in the mountains under partly cloudy skies.
There is a slight chance at a pop-up storm, but safe to say that threat will be a lot smaller than the past few days.
Heat indexes will be in the 100-105 range across the area.
That type of heat will stick around both Friday and Saturday as the mountains see a quick afternoon shower or two, but all in all conditions will be dry.
Sunday will bring back the return of spotty late day showers and storms with temperatures backing off a bit into the upper 80s to lower and middle 90s. That downward temperature trend will continue into early next week as will our afternoon rain chances.
