GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Upstate children will compete for their mark on Greenville's future infrastructure Wednesday morning.

Dig Greenville and the Children's Hospital of Greenville Health System (GHS) are teaming up to host a "Face of the Drill" contest.

Patients will design a face for the cartoon rendering of the drill that will be used to bore a tunnel through downtown Greenville for Renewal Water Resources wastewater conveyance improvement project.  The cartoon drill will serve as an education and outreach mascot for the duration of the Dig Greenville project, encouraging residents to learn about the updates and improvements to Greenville's infrastructure.

The contest will take place from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m at The Children's Outpatient Center located on the GHS Patewood Medical Campus.

The winner will have their artwork featured on majority of Dig Greenville's promotional materials and will be announced during GHS Children's Hospital's Radiothon 2017, which is an annual fundraiser that will take place August 3 and 4.
