Laurens Co. deputies seize over 40 grams of methamphetamine after foot chase

LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Laurens County Sheriff's Office said a man is in custody after leading them on a foot chase..

According to deputies, a woman spotted Bryan Lee Roeker outside her home on East Liberty Springs Street in Cross Hill.  

The homeowner told deputies she was going to feed her dog when she came in contact with the suspect. The woman said before deputies arrived, Roeker took off on foot toward a wooded area.

According to deputies, Roeker was found moments later sitting on a picnic table at the Cross Hill Community Park. When the responding deputy tried approaching the suspect, he fled toward the fire Cross Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Roeker ran into the department before sending the responding deputy on another chase, said Laurens County Sheriffs office.

Roeker was later apprehended.

Deputies said they searched Roeker and discovered a clear plastic bag that contained over 40 grams of a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

He faces multiple charges including, failure to stop for a blue light and trafficking meth.
