DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greer Police Department said a suspect is in custody after a car break-in on Wednesday.

Greer officers were notified of the break-in at a vehicle outside Doctors Care on West Wade Hampton but when they located the suspect, they said he fled.

A pursuit was not initiated.

Shortly thereafter, police said another officer located the suspect on Highway 290, stopped in the roadway. As officers approached the suspect, they said he fled on foot.

A foot search was initiated with the assistance of Duncan and Lyman police as well as the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Police said the suspect was given a ride to the QT in Lyman and fled on foot again when approached by authorities, but was apprehended at the Papa John's on West Greenville Highway.

The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Daniel Passmore.

Passmore was arrested and charged with failure to stop and driving under suspension.

Police said an autobreaking charge is also pending.
