WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a deadly motorcycle-involved collision on Wednesday.

Troopers said the crash was reported just before 2:50 p.m. on U.S. 221 near Sheena Drive.

Troopers said a 1998 Honda motorcycle was traveling north on US 221 when it ran off the right side of the road, striking a utility pole.

The driver of the motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in the crash, said Highway Patrol. The victim was later identified as 33-year-old David Warren Booth of Woodruff. He was pronounced dead at 3:16 p.m. at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Troopers said they were told by witnesses that another person was riding a motorcycle with the victim, but didn't stay on scene when the incident occurred.

This person was not involved in the crash, however troopers are still seeking this individual to gather more information on the wreck.
