Power restored to nearly 3,000 in Greenville Co.

A power outage reported on Wednesday evening impacted thousands of customers in Greenville County.

Duke Energy said more than 2,800 customers in the Travelers Rest area were experiencing outages around 5:30 p.m. The majority of the outages were in the area of Highway 25 between North Main Street and Locust Hill Road.

The traffic light at Tigerville Road near Highway 25 was malfunctioning, according to Highway Patrol.

There is no word yet on the cause of the outages, but power is expected to be restored by 8:15 p.m.

Around 7 p.m., the outages were repaired, according to Duke Energy's Outage Map.
