MOONVILLE, SC (FOX CAROLINA) -

The Greenville County coroner's office has released the names of an elderly couple found dead in their home Friday morning.

Deputies said the bodies were found at a home along the 7600 block of Augusta Road in the Moonville area after receiving a 911 call requesting  a welfare check at the home.

Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said a suspicious note on the front door to the home prompted the investigation.

When deputies entered, Dill said they found the bodies of 80-year-old Emily Jean Pace and 83-year-old Glenn William Pace.

Dill said both victims had been shot in the head.

The nature of Emily's death was ruled a homicide and the nature of Glenn's death was ruled a suicide.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office said there were no other individuals involved besides the two decedents.

The investigation is ongoing.
