LANDRUM, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police and DNR officials are urging residents to steer clear of the corner of an Upstate street, due to a furry visitor.

On Saturday, a black bear was spotted snacking in a tree on the corner of East Rutherford Street and Lyles Avenue in Landrum.

Police and DNR officials responded to the scene, and roped off the area to keep people away.

Just after 4:50 p.m., the bear was tranquilized by officials, and was transported by DNR to an undisclosed location. Stay with FOX Carolina for the latest.
