GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to a deadly motorcycle collision Saturday night.

Troopers said the wreck occurred on Edwards Road near Chipwood Lane around 10:47 p.m.

Lance Cpl. Gary Miller said a 43-year-old driver was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway before striking a ditch. Miller said the driver was ejected and taken by EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

According to Miller, a female passenger was also ejected from that motorcycle and died at the scene.

Both were not wearing helmets, said Miller.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Sandy Lynn Shook of Pelzer. The coroner said an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Shook's death was ruled an accident.

Troopers later confirmed they charged the motorcycle driver, 43-year-old Aaron Collier, with DUI resulting in a fatality and violation of probation.
