GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville Police Department said a man who went missing near Charleston has been found safe.

Officers said 62-year-old John Wallace Haddon grew up in Greenville. He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Haddon, who left his wallet, keys and eyeglasses behind, was last seen near Beechwood Drive and Ashley River Road on Saturday in Charleston. He was last seen around 6:30 p.m. wearing khaki shorts and a green or coral shirt.

Since he is a Greenville native, investigators were asking people in the Upstate to keep an eye out for Haddon in case he returns to the area.

Police in Charleston said he was found safe in their jurisdiction early Monday morning.

Greenville police said just before 9 a.m. that they had confirmed with Charleston police that Haddon had been located.
